Bloemfontein, also known as the City of Roses, due to the abundance of beautiful flowers and the annual Rose Festival which is held here. Bloemfontein is the judicial capital of South Africa, and therefore houses the Supreme Court of Appeal .
Annually Bloemfontein hosts various events like the Bloem Show, the Vryfees, and international and premier interschool sports matches. Being the commercial capital of the Free State, Bloemfontein has various shopping destinations like Loch Logan Waterfront (housing Kloppers), the new Northridge Mall and great local restaurants. Bloemfontein is also known for its great hospitals like Life Rosepark and Mediclinic as well as day clinics like CityMed and the Free State Medical Centre.
Nature lovers will enjoy visiting the beautiful Botanical Gardens and a trip to Naval Hill with the Mandela statute overlooking the city. The flat-topped hill offers an unrivaled view over Bloemfontein, while the plains boast a variety of giraffe, springbuck, ostrich and wildebeest roaming freely.

Maudene met us and showed us her lovely Pepper Tree Room. She was very accommodating. Pepper Tree Room really is much nicer than it looks on the pictures. The decor is very cute, Shabby Chic, complete with a lovely private outdoor area with table and chairs. It has all the basics, plus DSTV and parking under a carport behind an automated gate. Excellent value for money and a very convenient location for us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a private, comfortable experience.

Clean, comfy beds, all necessities needed (wifi, towel, soap, fridge etc). Very hospitable hosts, only stayed for one night but they offered us a ride to the bus station 07am. Would recommend!

Maudene was a wonderful host. She personally checked us in and explained the basic rules and important pointers. Her home was clean and cozy as advertised. She stayed out our way during our stay and The neighbourhood was quiet and upscale. we would definitely stay with her next time we visit Bloemfontein.
